Sahal Nazar built the Hourly Wage Tracker app as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by Sahal Nazar at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my Service. If you choose to use my Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that I collect is used for providing and improving the Service. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which are accessible at Hourly Wage Tracker unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, while using our Service, I may require you to provide certain personally identifiable information. Here's what data we collect and how we use it:

Account Information: Email address and password (if you sign up with email), or Google account information (if using Google Sign-In). This is used for authentication and account recovery.
Work Data: Job names, hourly wages, hours worked, daily notes, and currency preferences you enter. This data is stored securely in Firebase Realtime Database and is used solely to provide the core time-tracking functionality.
Purchase History: Subscription status and purchase records managed through RevenueCat to provide Pro features and restore purchases across devices.
Usage Analytics: We collect anonymized usage data through Firebase Analytics (25+ events including screen views, button clicks, feature usage) to understand how users interact with the app and improve the experience.
Crash Reports: Automatic crash logs through Firebase Crashlytics including device information, OS version, and app state to diagnose and fix stability issues.
Advertising ID: For free users, we collect your Android Advertising ID to serve personalized ads through AdMob.

All personal data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Your work data is isolated to your account and cannot be accessed by other users. Link to the privacy policy of third-party service providers used by the app:

Data Retention and Storage

Your data is stored and managed according to the following policies:

Free users: All work data is retained for 425 days from creation. Data older than 15 days is locked (view-only) but can be unlocked with rewarded ads or by upgrading to Pro.
Pro users: All work data is retained for 425 days from creation. Data older than 365 days is locked but retained for potential export or recovery.
Automatic deletion: Data older than 425 days is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers. This policy provides a grace period for users who may upgrade or need to export their data.
Account deletion: When you delete your account, all personal information and work data is permanently removed within 30 days.
Cloud sync: Data is synchronized across your devices via Firebase Realtime Database and persists offline for uninterrupted access.

This retention policy became effective from app version 0.1.0 and ensures your data is available when you need it while respecting storage limitations.

Log Data

I want to inform you that whenever you use my Service, in a case of an error in the app I collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ('IP') address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing my Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory. This Service does not use these 'cookies' explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries that use 'cookies' to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.

Firebase Authentication: Industry-standard authentication with encrypted credentials
Data Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
User Data Isolation: Your work data is strictly isolated to your account using Firebase security rules
No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except for essential service providers (Firebase, RevenueCat, AdMob)
Secure Infrastructure: Data is stored on Google's Firebase infrastructure with enterprise-grade security

However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We continuously monitor and update our security practices to protect your data.

Advertising and Analytics

For free tier users, we display advertisements through Google AdMob. This includes:

Banner Ads: Displayed on Home, Add Work, Work Details, and Statistics screens
Rewarded Video Ads: Optional ads that unlock temporary access to full data history (3 hours per ad)
Ad Personalization: AdMob may use your Advertising ID to show relevant ads based on your interests. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
No Ads for Pro Users: Pro subscribers enjoy a completely ad-free experience with no ad tracking

We use Firebase Analytics to track anonymized usage patterns (25+ events) including feature usage, screen views, and user flows. This helps us understand which features are most valuable and where we can improve. Analytics data is anonymized and cannot be traced back to individual users.

Your Privacy Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to Access: You can view all your work data within the app at any time
Right to Export: Pro users can export all their data as CSV files for backup or transfer
Right to Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data through the app settings or our dedicated account deletion page
Right to Rectification: You can edit or correct any of your work data at any time within the app
Right to Opt-Out: You can disable personalized ads in your device settings and manage analytics consent through the app
Right to Data Portability: Export your data in a standard CSV format that can be used in other applications

Anonymous vs. Authenticated Accounts

Hourly Wage Tracker offers flexible account options:

Anonymous Mode: You can use the app without creating an account. Data is stored locally and synced to Firebase using an anonymous user ID. This means minimal personal information collection.
Authenticated Accounts: Create an account with email/password or Google Sign-In for enhanced security and cross-device sync. You can upgrade from anonymous to authenticated at any time, and your data will be transferred.
Account Linking: RevenueCat enables seamless subscription transfer when upgrading from anonymous to authenticated accounts.

Children's Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case I discover that a child under 13 has provided me with personal information, I immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact me so that I will be able to do the necessary actions.

International Data Transfers

Your data is stored on Firebase servers which may be located in various countries. By using Hourly Wage Tracker, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection rules. We ensure that all data transfers comply with applicable privacy laws and that your data receives adequate protection.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. You will be notified of significant changes through the app or via email (if you have provided one). Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. This policy was last updated on January 2025 and is effective immediately.
